Women Development Department participated in the Steering Committee meeting held on 8 October 2026, chaired by Mr. Abdul Khalique Shaikh, Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, to advance the establishment of the National Day Care Fund under the Prime Minister's directives.
During the session, Additional Secretary WDD, Faiza Ahsan presented the Punjab Day Care Fund model as a successful framework to help shape implementation strategies for childcare facilities across Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and federal government entities.
When child care is within reach, women can step into the workforce with confidence. Punjab's model is now ready to serve women across the country.
