| Who can stay in Working Women Hostels? |
| The women who intend to get residency in Working Women Hostel must be a Working lady working in Government or Private sector. Working Women having domicile of same district are not entertained. Local working ladies are not preferred. |

| What is fee structure of Working Women Hostels? |
|
FEE AND CHARGES The fee and charges prescribed hereunder will be applied. The fee/rent are excluding all utilities i.e. electricity, sui gas, water, telephone and internet etc.

| How can I get admission in the hostel? |
|
ADMISSION PROCEDURE:- The following procedure will strictly be followed with regard to admission of working women in these hostels:-
- Preference will be given to Punjab Government employees;
- No local area resident Working Women will be accommodated in the hostels;
- Each Working Woman/ female will be accommodated for a period of 3 years. After expiry of 3 years, the working woman, if needed to retain accommodation will have to apply for re- admission;
- No student will be accommodated in these hostels;
- Children will not be allowed to stay in the hostel. Working women below the age of 18 years would not be eligible for admission in the hostels;
- Every working woman desirous of admission in the hostel shall apply in writing on the prescribed form (Annex-A) which will inter alia include:-
- An authentic declaration / certificate from the employer verification of the antecedents of the applicants including character verification, information regarding pay, job, posting and duty timings. It will be submitted annually by the Government employees and every 6 months by other employees (January/July) and Verified copy of CNIC and address of Applicant along with details of 3 references i.e. CNIC, Contact No. and address of References are required to be submitted at the time of admission.
- The acceptance of admission of applicant will be on first come first serve basis subject to 3.1(a) above for available vacancies.
- The Policy instructions shall also be applicable to previous & present residents / occupants of the Hostels. However, amongst those who have already completed 3 years shall seek re-admission in accordance with section 3.1(c) above.

| What are functions of Women Development Department? |
|
Our functions under the Punjab Government Rules of Business, 2011:
- Legislation, policy formulation and sectoral planning for women development.
- Transformation of the Government into an organization that actively practices and promotes gender equality and women empowerment
- Implementation of administrative and institutional reforms and departmental restructuring for promoting gender equality
- Mainstreaming gender equality perspective across public policies, laws, programs, and projects by departments and agencies of the Government with a focus on women empowerment
- Promotion, co-ordination and monitoring of execution of national and provincial policies and commitments on gender reforms and women development
- Provision of technical support and expertise for gender mainstreaming in all departments of the Government and its agencies

Women Development department is providing following services:
- Women Helpline 1043 for women related issues
- Creating awareness at grass root level regarding initiatives taken by government for women Empowerment
- Providing safe and secure residency to Working Women of Govt and private sector in Working Women Hostels established in 12 Districts
- Facilitating Working Women having Children by providing Day Care Services throughout Punjab
- Tanning workshop and Seminar related to gender issues

Protection against Violence and Harassment at Workplace

| What remedy is available to a women against domestic violence? |
|
A complaint regarding the violence is filed in the Family court under the Punjab Protection of Women against Violence Act, 2016. The Family Court may pass a protection order, residence order or monetary order and finally decides it within 90 days
- She may also call on helpline 1043.
- She may file complaint on Citizen Portal.

| What remedy is available to a women who has been deprived of ownership or possession of her property including right of inheritance? |
|
She may file a complaint to the ombudsperson under The Enforcement of Women’s Property Rights Act, 2021. The ombudsperson will preferably pass the orders on the complaint within 60 days of receipt of the complaint.

| What remedy is available to a women against harassment at Workplace? |
|
The women victim of Harassment may file a complaint either before the Inquiry Committee constituted in the Department or in the Ombudsperson‘s office under the Punjab protection against harassment of women at the workplace Act, 2010. An FIR may be lodged under Section 509 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the accused person. After conviction he shall be punished with Imprisonment upto 3 years or Fine upto Five Hundred Thousand Rupees or Both. .
