On September 26, 2023, The Secretary Women Development Department chaired the Gender Based Violence Steering Sub-Committee Meeting.
The Director General - Social Welfare & Bait ul Maal has presented a report of the sub committee on violence against women and girls, which discussed the Terms of Reference of the sub committee, a detailed comparison of the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016 and Anti Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act 2021.
This meeting is an important step in the fight against violence against women and girls. The recommendations of the sub committee will help to improve the protection of women and girls and ensure that perpetrators of violence are held accountable.
