The Consultative Workshop to Develop Action Plan for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment for South Punjab organized dated 15.06.2023 in collaboration with the South Punjab Secretariat and UN Women. The aim to develop an action plan for gender equality and women empowerment in South Punjab. The objective of the session is to gather diverse perspectives and expertise to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach to addressing the challenges faced by women in South Punjab and to devise strategies for their empowerment. During the workshop, participants shared their experiences, and provided valuable insights on the issues specific to women in South Punjab. These discussions likely encompassed a wide range of topics, such as education, healthcare, employment, political participation, and social barriers that hinder women's progress. The Secretary, Women Development Department (WDD) played an important role in facilitating the workshop and ensuring that all perspectives were heard and considered. The Secretary, WDD likely provided guidance about formulation of an action plan that would be effective in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in South Punjab.
