The delegation of Punjab Small Industries Corporation, which included Mr. Asim Azhar (Managing Director), Allahyar Dhakko (Director Culture Creative Industries), and Sahib Zafar (Project Director) visited Women Development Department, Lahore on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 and met Ms. Samira Samad, Secretary, Women Development Department, Punjab. On this occasion, the head of the delegation briefed about Women Resource Center and Incubator which were established under the Punjab Small Industries Corporation. He also informed about scope and objectives that these centers improve the socio-economic conditions of women entrepreneurs, comprehensive development of the region, business culture who will play an important role in encouraging and highlighting the positive image of Pakistan at the international level. He further informed that under these centers, more than 100 new women will be trained to start their own business by the end of March 2023. This will create more than 200 direct jobs and many indirect jobs as well. On this occasion, the Secretary, Women Development Department appreciated the work of Punjab Small Industries Corporation and informed about the priorities of Punjab Government that Women Development Department is conducting training programs with various government departments to include women in mainstream and conduct consultative sessions on women in various districts across the Punjab. In this regard, it was also agreed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Women Development Department and the Punjab Small Industries Corporation so that in the future both the organizations can work for the welfare of the mill women. Later she thanked the delegation of Punjab Small Industries Corporation and appreciated their wishes.
