Aghaaz is an initiative of Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (MoNHSR&C) with the collaboration of WHO and with the support of forum of Safe Motherhood. MoNHSR&C conducted a consultative session on Aghaaz: Pakistan’s Pre-Marital/Marital Counselling Approach on December 28, 2022. The objective of the session was to orient a potential couple on different topics related to pre-marital counselling like Importance of Marriage, Inter Spousal Communication, Planning for a Family, Birth Preparedness and Home Management. Ms. Sumaira Samad – Secretary, Women Development Department (WDD) participated in the session as panelist. She highlighted the significance of pre-marital counselling and its multi-touch sensitization approach. She also emphasized the importance of collaboration of WDD with WHO and MoNHSR&C for dissemination of above information to the stakeholders for better life of potential couples in Province of Punjab.
