Secretary, WDD visited construction site of Women Development Office Complex, Sabzazar, Lahore along with the Deputy Secretary (Planning), WDD and representatives of Architecture Department of Communication & Works Department. The purpose of the visit was to discuss provisions in the building for providing enabling environment to persons with disabilities. Secretary WDD, directed Architecture and C&W officials to include relevant elements in the design of the building to enable persons with disabilities to access the building independently. These features include construction of ramp at entrance to the building for wheel chair users, separate washroom for disabled persons, installation of tactile fittings on the floor from entrance and throughout the corridors for visually impaired persons, non-slip flooring and provision of various other elements in the design and facilities of the building that ensure inclusivity of persons with disabilities. C&W Department agreed to provide these facilities in the building
