Consultative Session with Punjab Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Unit (P&D)

Women Development Department (WDD) endeavors to ensure equality, equal opportunities, and dignity of life for women as these are the key factors that play a key role in sustainable economic growth and social development. To achieve these objectives, Women Development Department has been organized a one days Consultative Session with Punjab Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Unit (P&D) and Other Stakeholders on 27th September 2023. The purpose is to take updated over view of all public departments facilitate dialogues and collaboration, informed decision-making, and effective implementation of the SDGs 2030 in the Punjab. Therefore, they can effectively implement strategies to bring women into the mainstream and achieve the set targets under international commitments. Ms. Javeria Khalid, M&E Analyst/OIC, Punjab SDGs Support Unit presented an updated progress of all relevant departments over all SDGs in Punjab. On this occasion, Ms. Samira Samad, Secretary, WDD gave an overview that this session serves as a dynamic platform for fostering cooperation, addressing challenges, and advancing sustainable development in the region. It promotes a multi-stakeholder approach to achieving the SDGs and helps ensure that diverse perspectives are considered in the decision-making process. So, it is the responsibility of the state to play a key role in providing protection, human rights and equal opportunities in the society on the basis of gender equality.
