Hostels

INTRODUCTION:

The Working Women Hostels (WWHs) Punjab are administered and managed by Women Development Department through its Directorate of Women Development Punjab. Each hostel is headed by a Manager with ancillary staff to manage the affairs of the hostel. At present 16 WWHs are functional in 12 districts of the Province i.e Lahore (4 – WWHs), Rawalpindi (2 – WWHs) and 1 WWH each in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal Vehari, Multan, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha. The available capacity of these 16 WWHs is around 625 beds. OBJECTIVES: To provide secure and economical residential facilities to women who work away from their home towns and do not have accommodation at their stations of posting. To provide facilities of suitable and secure accommodation on subsidized and affordable charges to working women, these hostels have been established in all big cities of the province.
